OMNI and TAC Power Lines Carry out Brazil´s First Helicopter Transport of Transmission Tower Modules
Rio de Janeiro, March 25th, 2023- Omni Táxi Aéreo has recently completed the first helicopter transport of a transmission tower module in Brazil. The operation initiated a contract with TAC Power Lines. The contract involves the removal of 25 old towers and transmission cables, the assembly of new towers and cables, and the transportation of construction materials and people. The transport was carried out in areas of difficult access, in a protected park, in the Serra do Mar, between the Santos lowlands and the São Paulo plateau.
According to Décio Galvão, Omni Táxi Aéro´s Commercial Director, helicopter transport offers agility and safety for workers. It also significantly reduces the environmental impact of the activity, in line with best practices and ESG policies.
The Airbus H225 was used in this operation, with a maximum transport capacity of 3,500 kg on its external cargo hook, it´s the aircraft with the largest civil cargo capacity in operation in Brazil.
“With this contract, we strengthen Omni Táxi Aéro as a transport solutions provider for the energy sector. This creates a series of new business opportunities, as ambitious projects to expand the installed network in this segment can benefit from the use of new construction solutions,” concludes Décio.
